A few weeks ago, the Precipitate team attended a day long decarbonization in affordable housing workshop with over 60 other stakeholders, including environmental justice groups, developers, and financing experts. At the workshop we worked together to identify barriers to decarbonizing affordable housing and action steps to support more housing that is efficient, sustainable, and affordable.

Alongside other presentations, Elizabeth helped kickoff the day long event by sharing a case study overview on Verdant. Then we spent time in breakout conversations on the barriers and solutions to decarbonize affordable housing. After lunch we had a discussion on enhancing tenant protections, and we ended the day with an analysis of the funding and financing available for decarbonization and affordable housing.

The team left the workshop feeling grateful for the other environmental justice groups, developers, and financiers ready to dig into this work. We know that decarbonization starts with people and look forward to listening, learning, and supporting communities.
